How the VBD process works

Value By Design (VBD) is a structured workshop series where leadership teams move beyond optimising isolated functions to redesigning the whole system around value creation.

1. Understanding the system and mapping the current flow 
Leaders and their teams take an open systems view of the organisation to identify key stakeholders and exactly where work currently flows, slows down, or becomes trapped between functions

2. Designing the desired flow 
Using customer and stakeholder needs as the starting point, leaders redesign how work should flow to deliver value more effectively and reduce unnecessary delays

3. Identifying implications 
The team identifies the specific changes they need to make to processes, roles, and accountability structures to support the improved, redesigned flow

4. Implementing the transformation Leaders build a practical, "defect-free" transformation plan and establish feedback loops to ensure the new operating model consistently produces better outcomes in practice
